Faber‑com MDE‑PWM (PSCH55SR) — PWM Proportional Regulator Module
Overview
The MDE‑PWM is a high‑performance electronic regulator designed to directly drive multiple solenoid valves via PWM outputs. It is suited for systems that require proportional control over hydraulics—such as cranes, aerial platforms, and mobile machines. The “PSCH55SR” designation may be a variant or ordering code in the Faber‑com/Scanreco product family.
Key Features & Capabilities
- Multi‑Channel PWM Output
Capable of commanding three pairs of proportional solenoids (i.e. up to 3 A + 3 B outputs) based on three analog reference inputs. (3 + 3 PWM outputs)
- Analog Input Signals
Each channel accepts an analog input centered around 2.5 V (range 0–5 V). In ratiometric versions (for Danfoss compatibility), inputs operate at 25 %, 50 %, 75 % of supply voltage.
- +5 V Stabilized Supply
The regulator includes a stabilized +5 V output to power external potentiometers or reference sensors.
- Programmable Ramps and Limits
You can adjust ramp up / ramp down times (0.1 s to 10 s) per output, and set individual minimum and maximum current limits.
- Signal Limiting & Safety Range
The module supports “limited reference range” (default) mode, where input signals outside the safe band (below ~0.25 V or above ~4.75 V) disable the corresponding outputs.
- Bypass / Dump Valve Output
When any PWM output is active, a Bypass or Dump output can also be enabled, with programmable turn‑off delay to prevent hydraulic shock.
- LED Diagnostics
Two LEDs provide status and fault indication via blink codes for diagnostics.
- Serial Programming
Supports adjustment and calibration via a serial interface using Faber‑com’s programming tools (e.g., PRG2, AIS, Sepsim).
- Connector & Protection
Typically uses a 24‑pin IP68 connector. The electronics are designed to protect against short circuits and supply reversal conditions.
